What we’re about

We believe that community conversation and connection to Country teaches us to be better custodians of the places we live.

We want people chatting about the health of ecosystems across the Northern Rivers over a beer at the pub or during a morning walk on the beach.

RTNR started out of a desire to improve the health of our local environment.

During COVID we began researching the health of our local Richmond River only to discover it was among the most unhealthy waterways in NSW. We wanted to share what we’d learned with those around us in an effort to improve things for the future.

What we’re up to now

We’ve created stickers and t-shirts that raise funds to support existing and new restoration and conservation initiatives in the Northern Rivers. RTNR has hosted rainforest walks and plant ID sessions, panel discussions about the health of our rivers and film screening nights.

We’ve got some river paddles, river-focused film screenings, and other events on the horizon. Stay in the loop by signing up to our email newsletter
